Simone Villéla

A product designer and architect from Espírito Santo, Simone Villéla develops signature furniture in collaboration with Brazilian manufacturers. She graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, and furniture design came as a shift in scale: from the building to the object, from space to the body.

Each project begins with a sketch, where proportion, ergonomics and intent meet, and moves on to technical study, detailing and direct dialogue with the manufacturer — respecting the production process without giving up authorship. The result is pieces that balance form and function, structure and sensitivity.

The Nimbus lounge chair, an armchair and ottoman set inspired by the lightness and volume of clouds, earned her the Silver Award at the A’ Design Award, in Italy; the Clio coat rack won the Troféu Prata at the Salão de Gramado, in positive-impact design. Her career also includes Design Tank Brasil and industry fairs such as ABIMAD, Móvel Brasil and São Paulo Design Week. At Combinare, she designed the Embrace armchair.
