Intervém Design
Intervém is a product design studio founded by Gislaine Lau and Felipe Ishiy, both graduates of Universidade Federal do Paraná and based in Curitiba. The name describes the method: to intervene is to immerse oneself in something in order to influence its course — and that is how the duo approaches the projects they design for the furniture, lighting and décor industries.
In 2021 they were the only Latin American winners in that edition of the iF Design Talent Award, in Germany, with a biodegradable biofilm developed from kombucha and applied as the covering of an armchair — a project that sums up the studio’s interest in materials that do not yet have a defined place in industry. Their record also includes the Brasil Design Award, the RO Plastic Prize and the Prêmio Funarte.
It is this movement between material research and large-scale production that the duo brings to the Senz armchair, the piece they designed for the 2026 Catalog.
